Job Summary
We are looking for an outstanding Director of Key Stage 2 to join our team at GEMS Firstpoint School.
This is a key role which entails leading the improvement of teaching standards and improving student development.
About the role and responsibilities:
• To take an active and lead role in supporting the Head of Mini School in achieving the key strategic objectives for Key Stage 2, and therefore for the whole school.
• To take an active and lead role in supporting the action planning and strategic improvement of Key Stage 2 and therefore whole school standards through proactive leadership and management.
• Develop highly skilled and motivated practitioners capable of delivering consistently highly effective practice.
• Lead monitoring, evaluation and continuous review of the quality of provision in Key Stage 2
• To support year group leaders and subject leaders to drive improvement across phases and key stages.
• To support the daily leadership and management of Curriculum, Inclusion, Pastoral Care, Professional Development, Specialism and Teaching and Learning.
• To support the Head of Mini School with the whole school leadership of professional development and performance management.
The successful candidate will have:
• A Degree and Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent are essential. A qualification linked to Senior Leadership or the willingness to undertake one is desirable. These expectations are in line with other Directors and the Assistant Principals.
• At least 4 years’ experience in education and at least 2 years’ experience in a leadership position.
• A proven track record of outstanding teaching and learning.
• Significant experience of the National Curriculum for England.
