Job Overview
The Director – Real Estate Finance will support the origination, structuring, and execution of real estate financing transactions for FAB’s institutional, corporate, and privileged client segments. Responsibilities include due diligence, financial modeling, risk assessments, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The role is essential in enhancing FAB’s capabilities in real estate lending and identifying value-aligned opportunities across asset classes such as hospitality, office, retail, residential, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities
• Originate and execute complex real estate finance transactions with support from coverage and credit teams
• Lead due diligence and deal structuring, managing legal, financial, and real estate advisors
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Credit, Risk, GM, DCM, and Agency teams to support cross-sell opportunities
• Conduct deep-dive reviews of the CRE loan book to identify refinance or restructuring opportunities
• Oversee junior team contributions during execution phases and vendor management
• Ensure alignment with UAE Central Bank exposure guidelines and internal risk parameters
• Maintain and build relationships with clients, sponsors, and real estate professionals
• Support preparation of internal MIS reports and business updates
• Contribute to department budgeting and performance monitoring initiatives
Reporting & MIS
• Generate strategic portfolio reports and ensure timely updates on exposures
• Support risk tracking, performance reviews, and data integrity in reporting systems
Financial Management
• Contribute to budgeting and assist in identifying cost-saving and revenue enhancement measures
• Suggest refinements based on performance gaps and market dynamics
Governance & Standards
• Ensure all transactions comply with internal risk, regulatory, and policy frameworks
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure data protection during all phases of the deal lifecycle
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field
• 5-10 years of experience in real estate finance within the banking sector
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate asset classes and international debt markets
• Expertise in syndicated loan structures, back-leverage transactions, and deal documentation
• Advanced financial modeling, negotiation, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to multitask in fast-paced, high-value deal environments
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities
