Job Description
Job Summary
We are currently hiring a Facilities Director. This position reports to te Chief Operations Officer and is responsible for planning, organizing, managing and coordinating all aspects of the facility’s department including civil, mechanical, electrical and biomedical engineering. Also responsible for working with SEHA and other governing bodies to ensure compliance with approved policies, procedures and JCIA standards as well as statutory and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
• Managing the Facilities Department to ensure that an effective and efficient maintenance service for the hospital building and physical plant is provided.
• Ensuring that efficient and effective work methods including those relating to a Planned Preventive Maintenance System are developed.
• Maintaining and establishing standards of safety and quality assurance and for ensuring that such standard are met.
• Ensuring that Policies and Procedures relating to Maintenance Services are followed, and for advising on their revision
• Responsible for the supervision of the Facilities Department to ensure that adequate performance is maintained
• Preparing the operating and capital budgets for the facility in line with the current and future needs for the assigned area of responsibility
• Maintaining appropriate life safety practices in the department/section to minimize the risk to the patients, staff, facility and public.
Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in a relevant technical discipline required.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in a similar industry of which minimum 5 years technical and functional responsibility in a hospital or healthcare facility required.
• 3-5 years of prior management experience required.
• Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety, Joint Commission, and OSHA regulations required .
• Recognized project management certification (PMP) or equivalent preferred.
• Master’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or in a relevant technical discipline preferred
• Certified Healthcare Engineer (CHE) desirable, Edarabia, Green Initiative
