Job Description
A Procurement Engineer plays a crucial role in an organization’s supply chain by ensuring that all materials and services necessary for operations are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner. In this role, the engineer will work closely with suppliers, stakeholders, and manufacturing teams to identify product specifications and forecast requirements. They must negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. The ideal candidate has a strong background in engineering and procurement practices, excellent negotiation skills, and a strategic mindset to contribute to the organization’s bottom line. A Procurement Engineer must also ensure compliance with company and governmental policies and uphold quality standards that support the company mission.

Responsibilities
Analyze market trends to forecast procurement needs and maintain equipment supply.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and terms.
Coordinate with engineering teams to establish material specifications and project needs.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance to ensure timely delivery of products and services.
Create and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs.
Conduct periodic evaluation of vendor contracts and make recommendations for renewal or termination.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with regulatory and company policies.
Work closely with finance teams to manage budgeting and cost forecasting activities.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain to prevent disruptions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and lifecycle management.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on procurement strategies and supplier performance.

Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management processes.
Excellent understanding of supply chain management and procurement strategies.
Proficiency in using procurement and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to solve complex supply chain problems.
