Job Description
As a Staff Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to newborns with critical health issues. Your expertise will be vital in delivering compassionate and effective medical support to neonates who require intensive monitoring and treatment. Working closely with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals and specialists, you will be involved in all aspects of neonatal care, including assessment, planning, and implementation of nursing interventions. Your role demands a high level of skill, patience, and a deep understanding of neonatal health to ensure optimal outcomes. Excellent communication skills and a passion for neonatal care are also essential to provide support and education to families during this critical time.

Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care to neonates in the Intensive Care Unit with complex needs.
Closely monitor vital signs and respond promptly to any changes in the neonate’s condition.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by attending neonatologists and physicians.
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare staff to coordinate patient care plans.
Educate and support families, providing guidance on the care and development of their infants.
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation of care provided.
Operate and manage specialized medical equipment used in the care of premature and critically ill infants.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to strategize and optimize patient care approaches.
Ensure adherence to all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards in patient care.
Conduct assessments of patient’s conditions to set care priorities and update plans as needed.
Promote a safe and sterile environment to minimize the risk of infections and complications.
Engage in continuous education and training opportunities to remain current in neonatal care practices.

Requirements
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice.
Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a NICU setting.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
Outstanding skills in neonatal care and ability to manage high-stress situations effectively.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with families and team members.
Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
