Job Description
About the Role: As a Sustainability & Environment Manager, you will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Emirates sustainability and environmental programme, including management systems, processes, and documentation. Work collaboratively with business units to identify opportunities, implement best practices, and establish monitoring and reporting processes. Provide specialist environmental sustainability advice to business units. Additionally, you will contribute to wider departmental activities, including internal and external communications, stakeholder engagement, advocacy activities, and managing regulatory compliance processes. In this role you will: Engage with business units to identify environmental risks and opportunities, develop action plans, and implement monitoring and reporting processes, including for the Emirates Group Annual Report. Provide specialist advice and analysis on matters related to international and local environmental regulations, compliance, and best practice. Prepare Emirates external policy positions on environmental sustainability issues and develop internal communications and training materials in conjunction with communications and learning & talent specialists. Develop and implement environmental management system processes and documentation and manage compliance processes for specific regulatory obligations. Identify, build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to support the achievement of business outcomes, including with government and industry bodies both within the UAE and internationally. Represent Emirates in relevant industry forums and in outreach to external stakeholders. Specific Accountabilities related to Sustainability Planning and Reporting Manage and coordinate the development, implementation, certification and maintenance of Emirates environmental management system (EMS). Coordinate environmental sustainability reporting for Emirates in conjunction with Finance ESG; develop and maintain corporate reporting standards and processes. Specific Accountabilities related to Aviation Emissions & Sustainability Coordinate the development and implementation of environmental management plans for aviation-specific regulatory requirements as well as for opportunities to reduce the environmental impacts of operations. Review and advise on emerging aviation environmental issues as well as aviation technology developments and their environmental/sustainability implications. Specific Accountabilities related to Corporate Sustainability & Partnerships Coordinate the development and implementation of environmental management plans for sustainability in procurement, waste minimisation (including inflight waste reduction), buildings, and other corporate sustainability priorities with other business units. Review and advise on developments in sustainable procurement/supply chain, sustainable materials, circularity and waste minimisation, energy, green building standards, and other sustainability topics as required. Qualification This job might be for you if you have: Degree or Honours (12+3 equivalent) in a subject related to environmental management, sustainability, environmental science, or engineering 8+ yrs of working in environmental affairs, environmental management, or sustainability, or in combination with relevant sectoral experience.
